Welcome to APF
we are SO HAPPY you’re here!
Girl, you did it! Welcome to the Addictive Pole Fitness sisterhood.
Okay, we need to take a minute to celebrate YOU. Today, you put yourself first. You committed to something a little scary, but a whole lot of FUN! We can’t wait to see you shine in your journey.
Think of this welcome pack as your kick-start guide to your pole journey at Addictive Pole Fitness. Below you can find starter tips, info on classes and a full breakdown at the bottom of the page. You will find everything you need to know to get started and where to ask questions if we missed something.
Let’s get started
Start your pole journey with these 3 steps
First…Join Facebook Group
Everything happens in our Facebook group. This Facebook Group is private and dedicated to current members ONLY. Members of the group are the first to know when new timetables are coming, hear about special deals and any changes or news about the studio.
Join our Facebook group here.
Then, book your classes!
Depending on your membership, you will have 1, 2, 4 (or more classes) per week to book. We offer 3 types of classes in our timetable; Series, drop-ins and zoom classes.
-
Think of this like a TV show, all good ones have a series. You need to see more than one to know the full story. Our series classes are just like that. You will want to attend each week to build on the skills you learned the week before. When you select the class, you are selecting that time slot for the entire term.
We recommend our beginners only choose one beginner 1 class each week. Of course, if you wish, you can do more than one beginner 1 class per week, but pole is fun fitness, and part of that comes in seeking variety in our drop-in classes.
Book ahead for all classes in series when enrolments are open by selecting your chosen series class and “Book Now”
BEGINNERS: Please note that we run a Beginner 1 and a Beginner 1 (6-week). While they teach the same content, they are not on the same schedule, please only book into the beginner 1 that is on your schedule. Refer to below as your guide:
Beginner 1 = Beginner 1
Beginner 1 (6 week) = Beginner 1 (6 week)
Beginner 1 (6 week) ≠ Beginner 1
-
Okay, so here is where the fun comes into play! The content for a drop-in class will change week from week, so you get variety in your pole journey. Every week, you are taught like you didn’t attend last week so you can drop in any time.
Bookings open for the term on Friday week 9. These can be booked under the “Book Now” button on your app dashboard. Booking windows shut 1 hour prior to the class.
If you are being prompted for payment, this likely means you have used up your allocation for the term.
Get in touch with our team to discuss any errors. -
These classes are completed in-studio and on zoom, which means you can attend from home. Most of these classes are off-the-pole classes, with the exception of Pole Conditioning.
These can be booked under the “Book Now” button on your app dashboard - find “Zoom” in the title for all online classes. Please ensure you check the chat in Groovio for the class link.
The first time you book this class type, please ensure you check for the email with plenty of time to get in touch, just in case you have not opted in for account management emails.
Also, wear your pole band
In your welcome pack, you will have a band. We have 2 coloured bands in the studio:
Pink for “I am new to pole dancing”
Purple for “I have poled before, but am new to the studio”.
The bands help the team easily identify who is new in their class and ensure they can cater to you. We recommend you wear your band in drop-in classes until you feel comfortable. If you get really comfortable in one class, you might stop wearing your band but might want to wear it when you attend a different drop-in class you haven’t attended or with an instructor you haven’t yet met.
Pole dancing has gifted me…
Friendships
You are guaranteed to meet your future pole bestie/s when starting pole. From something as simple (but special) as a shared love for pole has been the beginning of life-long friendships.
Self-love
It’s impossible not to fall in love with yourself when you start your pole journey. This becomes a time and space where you can focus solely on you and your own body.
Confidence
Class by class you are improving on every level. Next minute, you will look back and see how far you’ve come in such a short time and how proud of yourself you are!
Strength
The rumours are true! Pole takes strength, but we all have to start somewhere. Our classes are designed for consistent and incremental strength building.
Things to think of when starting your pole journey in our studio
With so many pole sisters walking through our doors, we’ve compiled the most requested and helpful tips for your new journey with us!
Tips for booking classes
-
A waitlist means the class is currently fully booked. Waitlist will offer a spot to the next in line and they will have 90 mins to accept, up until 8 hours prior to the class. After this it will be converted into the waitpool where everyone on the list will be notified and you will need to be the first to accept to claim the spot.
We always recommend to add yourself to the waitlist if you are interested in the class. Waitlists do move!
Adding yourself to a waitlist will not use a class pass unless you are added to the class.
-
Cannot attend class? Just cancel out, using the app, more than 4 hours' notice (*early cancel).
This class pass will then go onto your account for use during that same week.
If you cancel within 4 hours (late cancel) or do not arrive for class, you will forfeit that class pass. If you used an additional class pass to book, this will go back onto your account to be used within 3 months of the sale date.
-
We know sometimes things outside of your control can make you late for class and it’s not a fun feeling. For safety reasons, if you are more than 5 minutes late for the start of class, you are unable to join the class. The first 5 minutes are spent warming up, and it is important you have warmed up adequately for the class.
Without knowing what the instructor has planned, it’s challenging for you to prepare your body in the right way for class. Being allowed into class after this time would take time for the instructor to ensure you can and are warmed up correctly and this is unfair to those students who arrived on time ready for class.
We would recommend you arrive 10 minutes prior to your class start time to ensure you don’t miss your class.
If you are refused entry to a class, please be respectful to any of our team members, who may have to turn you away.
Enjoying your class
-
Please ensure you arrive with plenty of time to get ready for class (changing facilities are onsite if you need) and check in prior to the class starting.
You can check in under your profile on the app or using the iPad on the reception desk. You must check-in for all classes individually.
-
As a staple, you should wear a comfy t-shirt or singlet to each class, shorts and bring your pole cloth (we sell this in-studio) and water bottle.

Many beginners start pole and quickly realise they have sweaty hands or are getting slippery on the pole, thanks to a variety of reasons.
If you wish to explore grips, see reception to try some grip to see if it works for you before you commit to purchasing the grip. We want you to find the best fit for you.
Pole dancing brings a bunch of people together from all walks of life into the most supportive environment.
