It’s more than a fitness class

…it’s confidence
…it’s self-love
…it’s about learning to love your body
… it’s time for YOU

pssst… the fitness benefits are pretty good too 😉

you want to boost your fitness OR your confidence – and you need to do something new to make it happen…

You hate the gym! Going to a normal gym class is not for you… You want something that makes exercise FUN

Or maybe you really want to boost your confidence by doing something you have never done before…

Or you just need time for YOU, and have heard of all the great benefits pole dancing has to offer…

The bottom line is: you are feeling the need for change (shake up, something different, insert any other reason here) in your life…

Does that sound familiar?

If yes – Beginner 1 is designed specifically with you in mind. Our 6 or 10-week program will walk you step-by-step through the fundamentals of your pole dancing journey.

Whether you’re just starting or have been in fitness or dancing for a while, Beginner 1 will take the guesswork out of your fitness routine to feel stronger, and own your confidence.

Is Beginner 1, really for me?

GREAT QUESTION. LET ME GO OVER THE 4 TYPES OF WOMEN BEGINNER 1 IS FOR SO YOU CAN FIGURE OUT IF IT’S A FIT…

You have never pole danced before.

Beginner 1 if you have absolutely no pole dancing experience. You have “no core strength” or “upper body strength”. You’re excited to learn more about pole dancing to get your first spin, climb or sit.

You are bored or hate the gym.

Your workout days are filled with more stress than success. Your gym is not the problem… your problem is getting the motivation to go. You can’t seem to get excited no matter how hard you try, and you’re ready for that to change – ASAP.

You are finding it hard to find time for yourself.

Your <select one (or more)>…

children, family, work, side hustle, partner, lover, fur babies, <insert any other time-heavy item here>

are taking priority – every time. You’re trying so hard to find more time for yourself; you’re completely and utterly... mentally and physically... exhausted! All the time! You’re looking to find a better of blocking out time for YOU. It has to be easier than this, right?!

You are looking for new ways to boost your confidence.

Beginner 1 or just pole dancing, in general, is for you if you have never felt confident within yourself. You are longing for more self-love, self-worth and compassion towards yourself. Feeling good inside and out is essential to you.

.. to sum things up real quick: Beginner 1 IS for you if you are a woman or feminine representing/identifying individual who has never done pole dancing AND you’re looking to grow your fitness, overall health, confidence and more.

Does that sound like you? If yes – you’d be a perfect fit for Beginner 1!

Let’s also get clear on who Beginner 1 is not for:

BEGINNER 1 IS NOT FOR YOU IF...

During this 6 or 10 week program, we’re covering…

Nine foundational pole dancing tricks. Five key strength movements for pole dancers. A fun choreo, featuring the new pole dancing tricks you just learnt.

Now, the important part… when can you start!

Every term we offer 10 and 6 week Beginner 1 options. Enrolments open 2-3 weeks prior to the start date and close 2 weeks after (unless fully booked, and it happens).

Check out our timetable for the most recent schedule.

What our previous Beginner 1 students are saying..

“I’m amazed at how much I progressed in just 10 weeks with APF. It’s such an encouraging and supportive environment. The whole team wants to see you thrive and grow and each teacher has so much value to add to your journey.”

— Alex S

“I joined APF because I was shy and nervous about meeting new people after recently moving state, and after joining my confidence got so much better and I made so many friends! I love being a part of the sisterhood community and I’m learning to love myself and my body more and more with every class. Thank you APF!”

— Lizzie V

“Beginner 1 was a great introductory to the work of pole. The instructors helped me achieve tricks I did not think I would be capable of so early on, especially when I had no prior fitness training. Everyone at APF made me feel like part of the community right from the start and I am now well and truly addicted to everything pole. I can already feel myself getting stronger and I am so excited to continue my pole journey at APF!.”

— Talara B

still have questions about beginner 1? we’ve got answers…

  • Confidence, strength, new friends, appreciation of themselves.

  • Just time and a little less choreo. Both classes offer the same curriculum. You will find if you attend a 6-week program, you will cover the same tricks and strengthening as those in the 10-week program, but you will focus less time learning the choreo. This means if you enrol in a 6-week program, you will not complete the entire routine. However, the 10-week classes will. The main reason we provide the condensed version of beginner 1, is to ensure there is always a beginner 1 class to enrol in, all year round.

  • THE ANSWER IS NO! Absolutely NOT! We know exactly how you should strengthen to be ready for pole dancing and have included this in our curriculum. Just start, and we will help you with the rest.

  • 1000%!

So many current and past pole sisters have raved about how much confidence pole has given them. We think this is because pole dancing is challenging BUT achievable. You will find yourself having small wins frequently, and in this time, you learn to trust yourself and your body. Along with this, you start to appricate your body for what it can do rather than how it looks. You learn to love yourself in a new way.

PLUS, pole dancing gives you the option to explore your creative side, your strong side, your sexy side, and so much more.

  • You sure can! Every week we host several FREE trial classes. It’s the best way to check out the studio, meet the team and learn a few awesome tricks.

Just book using the button below!

  • Memberships start from $41 weekly for 2 classes; that’s less than $20.50 per class.

Our membership options come in 2, 4, 6 and unlimited class options. See our pricing tab for more information.

  • You will agree to our membership terms and conditions when you become a member. We ask all members to commit until the end of each term. So if you sign up for a 10-week program, you will be making a minimum commitment of 10 weeks. If you sign up for a 6-week program, your commitment will be 6 weeks.

Our memberships operate similarly to gym membership (without a lengthy commitment). If you do not cancel your membership at the end of the term, it will automatically roll over, and your commitment will reset for the new term (10 weeks).

  • Our recommendation would be to attend only 1 Beginner 1 class per week. Instructors cover the same content in each class, and you might get bored.

We encourage you to use your second class towards a drop-in each week. You will never get bored in your pole journey by attending a different drop-in each week. Plus, you will get to meet new instructors and pole sisters.

Our beginners generally LOVE trick classes or beginner-friendly choreo classes.

  • All our memberships are non-refundable, and you can only cancel your membership at the end of each term.

When you agree to a membership, we ask you to make a small commitment of 6 or 10 weeks. During this time, we will always make sure there are enough classes for every single member.

  • You don’t have to! Instead, why not do drop-in classes instead? We highly recommend Beginner Tricks, Choreo or Flexxy! If you are unsure, check out our beginner-friendly timetable. This timetable will show the best classes for beginners each term.

  • No problem! If you can not attend your regular night, cancel your class using the APF app and re-book into another Beginner 1 class.

Please note that 10-week beginner 1 students can not attend 6-week beginner 1 classes and vice versa.

  • If you have pole danced before, but it has been a very long time (more than 18 months), you are more than welcome to enrol in a beginner 1 class. After returning from a break, we find that your muscle memory doesn’t take long to kick in, and you are quickly achieving old moves. Our beginner 1 class is for complete newbies, so you may get bored (and this is meant to be fun fitness, right?!). Feel free to talk to us about your situation; we can help you make the best decision for your pole journey.

  • No, this is just an example of a routine that is taught in the Beginner 1 class.
